Well, I went to the doctor yesterday to get surgery scheduled to fix a hernia that I have. I’ve had this hernia for many years. Not really sure how many years I have had it but I basically do not remember not having it. Anyways, lately it has been causing a little bit of pain so I decided to finally tell someone about it and went to the doctor for it about a month ago. He set an appointment for me with the surgeon for the 12th of this month (yesterday) to schedule surgery for it.
I will have it fixed on Friday July 18th of this year. I have to be at the hospital at 7am and the surgery is at 9am. I am actually sort of looking forward to getting this fixed as it will be nice to no longer have it. The surgery is an outpatient surgery and the doctor said I would go home between 1-2 hours after I wake back up from it. The surgery I guess takes around one hour to complete.
This will be my 3rd surgery so far. My first surgery was in 2002 to fix my scoliosis. I had another surgery in 2006 to remove a growth from my head. Surgery doesn’t scare me at all really, especially since my major back surgery I had. Nothing can be as bad as having back surgery (at least I don’t think). The only thing I hate about surgery is the IV they stick up your arm. For some reason I tend to not react well to those fluids (I think it is just salt water) being put in me. Last time I had surgery I almost fainted when they started that IV.
Anyways, I am also starting to get over being sick. I have been pretty sick with a viral infection (according to my doctor) over the past week. Today I really ate for the first time since sunday (6 days ago). I had a really bad stomach ache, headache, diarrhea, and chest pain. The chest pain I guess was from the viral infection. I was given tyolnol with codine to help get that away, which also helped get rid of the diarrhea. Although, it actually just constipated me instead.
Well, that’s all for now.
